A security deposit of $1,500 CAD is required to guarantee your spot. Caravanas de Mexico then requires a 50% deposit, with a final payment 45 days before departure.
All amounts paid can be transferred to the following season without penalty if you must postpone for one year. Or, if you prefer to be refunded as indicated on chart below:
- For any cancellation request, a portion of your security deposit ($1,000 CAD) will not be refunded.
- Amounts calculated in the currency you pay with (USD or CAD).
- More than 120 days before departure, 100% refund.
- Between 90-120 days before departure, 80% refund.
- Between 60-90 days before departure, 60% refund.
- Between 30-60 days before departure, 25% refund.
- Less than 30 days before departure, 10% refund.
All financial aspects of the tours must be handled directly with Caravanas de Mexico.
Participants will be required to sign a standard liability waiver before departure, which will also outline our responsibilities.
Participants will be required to complete a medical form and submit it to the Wagon Master in a sealed envelope with their name on it. This form will only be opened in case of emergency and will be returned to you when the caravan ends.

Vehicle insurance
Your Canadian or American insurance is not valid in Mexico. It’s important to note that when you buy a Mexican insurance, you are dealing with an intermediary agent based in Canada or in the United States. Mexican insurances are denominated in US dollars (USD).
Mexican law requires everyone to have a minimum liability coverage of $500,000 USD. Also check with your own insurance company; most of them will refund or credit a portion of your unused insurance costs during your stay in Mexico.
Save on your own insurance.
Make sure you keep a few receipts proving that you were in Mexico (entry and exit), have your passport stamped upon exiting Mexico, and include a copy of your Mexican insurance.
Caravanas de Mexico is not an insurance broker. We provide insurance information to help you make your decision during our information sessions for the caravan participants.
